When the international lighting manufacturer, Swarovski, relocated their showroom from New York to the Dallas Market Center, Propp+Guerin was tasked with signing the 9,000 square foot space. Two suites were combined into one corner showroom, featuring Swarovski and their subsidiary, Schonbek, creating a light filled space for featuring their products.
Faced with competitor knock-offs of their exclusive line of crystal lighting, they needed their showroom to discourage photography of their products from outside of the showroom windows, while still welcoming and enticing customers to enter.
Using the faceted glass storefront designed by tvsdesign, two custom mirrored semi-translucent vinyl stripe patterns were created as drapery for both sets of windows and applied to both interior and exterior sides of the glass. The created kaleidoscope effect, revealing slices of their products, intermixed with reflections of the viewer, entices customers to enter.
The reflectivity of the mirrored curtain storefront, became the perfect deterrent to photographing their products from the showroom exterior. The visual effect created by the pattern of stripes, reflects both Swarovski and Schonbek brands and their dedication to the craftsmanship of producing premium crystal lighting products.
